Seagate BarraCuda 500GB SSD & 8TB Internal Hard Drive

For the Great Quarantine of 2020, I decided to finally do something I’ve thought about doing for years…build my own computer.  After lots of YouTube videos and online research,  now seemed to be the time to try this. The next few reviews will be some of the various parts for this build. This should be fun.

Item #5: Storage.  This was the easiest part to find.  Amazon  had tons of choices and great prices.

In the Box
Seagate BarraCuda 8TB Internal Hard Drive.  I’m also re-purposing an existing Seagate BarraCuda 500GB SSD that will be the main boot drive for Windows 10.

Initial Impression
The 8TB is heavy, so don’t drop it on your foot.  The SSD is the total opposite and very light.

After 3 week of use
Installed Windows 10 on the SSD and it boots lightning fast.  Amazing.  Games, and other data are loaded on the 8TB. Everything is running smoothly.

Negatives
None at this time.

Conclusion
Storage is pretty cheap these days, but don’t skimp.  Go with a quality name brand and you’ll be just fine.
